Now our guests are invited to participate in an exciting culinary adventure: discovering tips and techniques from some of the world’s most respected chefs, wine experts and cookbook authors.  Whether you are a gourmet cook yourself, a wine aficiando or a devotee of the Food Network – no matter your level of expertise – you and your friends are sure to enjoy Holland America’s fabulous Culinary Arts Center, presented by Food & Wine magazine.

Entertaining hands on learning

Each Culinary Arts Center features a state-of-the-art kitchen with a large cooking display counter and plasma video screens for close-up views.  Guests observe gourmet demonstrations in a theater-style setting, as well as participate in hands-on cooking classes limited to just 12 guests.  Available for a small additional charge, the classes offer participants a unique opportunity to learn firsthand from a world-class chef.  Other opportunities may include book signings, themed lectures, question-and-answer sessions, specially designed onboard menus and more.

A group of friends and an experience to savor

New groups can customize their own special culinary cruise experience.  This program is a great way for food and wine aficionados, epicurean groups, dinner clubs, and those who simply love to cook to add a unique dimension to the cultures and places they visit.  Partner with a local restaurant, chef or other culinary expert to create your own memorable group cruise experience.

2009-2010 Culinary GAP Program (minimum group size 25 paid guests)  Benefits below are in lieu of GAP points

Private Premium Wine Tasting with Cellas Master – approximately one-hour tasting featuring five international wines and samples of the perfect food pairings
$25 beverage card/per stateroom
Two one-hour demonstration sessions in the Culinary Arts Center with group provided chef.

**If less than 25 paid guests (excluding 3rd/4thguests) the group will instead receive the GAP points available on the sailing at the time of original booking.  In some cases, the Culinary Arts Center amenities may be provided for smaller groups for an additional fee.  Due to the limited capacity of the Culinary Arts Center, groups must identify this option at the time of initial booking.  The number 0of groups we can accept under this program on any sailing may be limited.  Additional fees may apply.  15 minute set-up/take down may be deducted from sessions.

Winemakers Package

Holland America Line is happy to introduce an exciting onboard wine-group experience.  Our winemakers GAP Package for wine groups offers wine enthusiasts an opportunity to learn more about the complex world of wine – all while incorporating the unique cultural dimension of cruise destinations.  Partner with a wine maker, sommelier or local restaurant to create your own memorable group cruise experience.  Choose from two options:

Groups bring their own wine on board 0 the perfect solution for wineries who wish to serve their wines with dinner (a nominal corkage fee applies).

Create a group focusing on the fine wines that Holland America Line serves on board, enjoying wine tastings with our knowledgeable CellarMasters.

Minimum of 15 guests.   (Per person amenities apply to 3rd and 4th guests.)

With the Winemakers GAP Package each group receives the following amenities:

Two one-hour wine tastings in either the main Dining Room or the Pinnacke Grill Restaurant.

Winemakers Lunch in the Pinnacle Grill.  Choose from two starter menu items and three entre choices.  Lunch includes a pairing of three wines.  Groups that choose the Holland America wine option can opt for a higher value wine for a nominal fee.

Each group can choose either a plate of chocolate-dipped strawberries or the Holland America commerative bottle of wine per stateroom.
